My son has low self esteem and has a difficult time making friends. He tries so hard to fit in and be "cool" to his peers that he invades their space and will not leave them alone. He gets in trouble for saying things that are inappropriate, and when confronted denies saying them. He claims the kids do not like him and they lie to get him in trouble. He says the kids call him names and make fun of him. He tells me the kids steal his food and throw food at him. I have witnessed him trying so hard to be liked that he says "off the wall" stuff. I have talked to him about not trying so hard, and to keep his mouth shut. I have told him to stick up for himself no matter what the consequences! When I talk to the teacher, she says that parents call and complain about my child saying inappropriate things to their child; so now I do not know what to believe! I want to believe my child, but the "boy that cried wolf" is getting old. HELP!
