My 12 year old son was just diagnosed with ADHA/ODD the doctor just gave him 10.mg Adderall... I was very scared to give it to him.. Today was his first day taking it he took it at 11 but didn't eat and went back to sleep.... When he woke up all he did for over 4 hours was sit in front to the TV playing his game.. Now my son likes to be outside riding bikes playing with his friends... He told me he was to tired to go out n play n his legs where weak... Now to me he looked high as a kite and it scared me... Around 6ish he start to be more active n more him self... Is that how this medicine works? N to the parents that have had there child on Adderall for a while n r up to 30mg. don't u feel as though that's a lot cause what about 2 or 3 years down the line when there up to higher doses n r addicted to it? What happens then? These r my worries...... If someone could shine some light onto this for me I would be greatfulllllllll........... :-/

I would recommend talking to your doctor about this. There are also other medications and your doc can change the dosage if needed. The goal is to help the child - not create a child without energy. Also talk to your doc about addiction.
