Try to be understanding. At 12 she is probably seriously considering this as a possibility. Many women/girls in the teenage age/early adult go through a 'bisexual' stage in order to draw in boys/men's attention.
Hell, even I am confused about my sexuality half the time. I would have to say that I am straight, but about 25% of the time I could see myself (and have been) in sexual relationships with women.
At the same time, I could never see myself in a long term relationship with a woman.
Sexuality is a confusing subject.
Do some research, and stay open minded regarding the subject. You should be VERY proud of the fact that your daughter was comfortable enough to tell you this in the first place. Most children would be too scared to do so. :) Encourage this type of communication with her, so you know she will feel comfortable coming to you about other things.

either shes feeling a void in her life or just confused because the media views it as a trend.
