my 13 year old has autism how does risperidone work or is strattera thanks

My son has ADD, and has been on that medication. It seemed to work really well as far as helping him to focus. Unfortunately, it also had side effects that just started to get out of hand so I took him off the medications. Everybody is different though. Maybe your son won't have the side effects. Mine started having twitches, like excessive blinking and neck stretching and mouth movements. I forget which medication that was actually. Then we put him on Strattera because it's supposed to be a non-stimulant, but with that he started having severe anger issues. Almost as soon as we took him off that he calmed down. But hey, give it a shot. They may work really well for your son without the side effects. :)
