Today I got a call from school saying my son had badly assaulted a girl at school , well I could have died of shock and im waiting for the school to tell me if they are pressing charges. Should I defend my son as the girl was cruely verbaly harrassing him till he cracked or just exept whatever happens?

as long as there are witnesses and evidence to support his claim of harassment, then back him up. My deal with my boys was that i'd back them all the way, but if I found that they were actually in the wrong, they'd have worse to deal with with me.

Good luck

I would defend my son til the bitter end. MY son knows not to put his hands on anyone in any situation, especially girls. If you've raised your son to respect others, then the girl must've really gotten to him. If the school sees fit, after hearing both sides of the story, to punish him then make him deal with the consequences. Personally, if I found out that my boys had hit a girls any situation, they'd have to deal with some severe consequences from me.
