I am been given the silent treatment by my son, he wont do any chores, he demanded his allowance two days ago and I told him, he had not pleased me, so he was not getting it. From there, its been like sharing the house with my worst enemy, prior to that, he was so rude, he would talk to me like he would his friend. Need a break from him, he's the eldest of my four sons and I have a 1 week baby. I am also a single parent, I have a 5 and 4 year old, they are so helpful, God bless them.

So.....does he have a phone? TV privileges? Game privileges? Can go out with friends? Or at least have time with them? Is his allowance his only currency? Do you have ways you can reward him for the right behaviours (i.e you have been great this month and been really helpful, etc, so here is a ticket for you and a friend to the movies...).

I find it difficult to discipline him, apart from stopping his allowance, there is nothing else I can do, he just wont do what he's told to do

So what are his consequences for treating you like this and not doing his chores...other than not getting his allowance?
