Please see your doctor. Your family doctor already knows wether or not you are a good mother ( the fact that you are posting this is a good indication you are!) In my opinion - unless she was a premie - she should weigh a great deal more. Is she eating properly? Slleping properly? Perhaps look up Celiac disease - Celiac disease is a condition that damages the lining of the small intestine and prevents it from absorbing parts of food that are important for staying healthy. The damage is due to a reaction to eating gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats.

The exact cause of celiac disease is unknown. The lining of the intestines contains areas called villi, which help absorb nutrients. When people with celiac disease eat foods or use products that contain gluten, their immune system reacts by damaging these villi.

This damage affects the ability to absorb nutrients properly. A person becomes malnourished, no matter how much food he or she eats.

Please see your doctor.

Hi Hayley, how is your daughter now? My son is 14 months and weighs only 16.8lbs and doesnt walk or crawl too. I've seen at least 4-5 doctors, specialists (GI and physios and nutritionists etc) and ran tests (upper GI, blood tests, stool tests) and everything came back normal. Also allergy tests (no allergy!) He's a v happy kid, but not very active and low muscle tone. I think he's more cerebral and intellectual (like mom) and musical (like dad) and has v good fine motor skills but gross motor skills are wayyy behind. Just wonder how your kid is now. I've got another kid who is normal in eating and weight so I don't know how I "screwed up".

I certainly wouldnt blame yourself! My niece is exactly the same, shes almost 2 now and starting to catch up but shes is still only the same height of my one yr old son, shes just a dainty little dot, some people are that way, as long as shes eating well, id get her checked out anyway to be on the safe side. x
