My daughter is 15 months old and isn't walking by herself yet. She has the walking toys and she will walk behind those or hold my hands to walk. I just can't get her to take a step by herself. I know some kids don't walk until 18 months but people keep asking me if she is walking and I'm starting to feel like it's my fault. Please help...

She's got the movements down to walk. She just needs the confidence... which WILL come in time on her terms. You aren't doing anything wrong. If people keep asking about it just let them know that she's getting there on her terms and will walk when SHE is ready... not when anyone else wants her to.

I am sure you aren't doing anything wrong. I have been told many of times that children develop very differently from each other. The other women are asking out of curiosity. They are not judging you.

I am expecting my first, but my husband has a son. He has stated that the best way to get a kid to walk, it to not pick them up. Wander around the house, and they will want to follow along, and crawling won't allow them to keep up. They will put more effort in.
I am willing to try it when it is time for my baby to start walking. :)

I wouldn't stress about it though! They will start walking fine in time. No point in putting extra stress on yourself.

Thank you I will certainly try that! I know she will walk when she is ready but I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong. She stays at home with me all day and I think she has become very dependent on me so she doesn't feel the need to walk.
