My daughter suffers extreme anxiety. She says she gets bullied for it and finds it hard to make real friends. I feel the ones she has make her feel worse about herself when she needs them the most. She has no self confidence which I can't understand because she is so beautiful smart funny and caring. She's been dating a boy for the past year. They spend almost all their time together. Tonight while she was getting ready to go for supper with him, her friend texted her to tell her he wanted to break up with her. She was shocked and beyond devestated. He is in love with his ex girlfriend and going back with her. He texted my daughter and said she is a slut and everybody hates her. Not what she needs to be hearing. I am so upset for her. I can't imagine how she feels cause my heart is broken to pieces.

Look at progressive muscle relaxation Jacobson. It's a good coping skill and easy to learn. It has helped me alot.

Yes she is taking meds. She says it helps and I can see a huge difference in her but her anxiety is still there. She will not think about therapy so I am researching some coping skills on my own. No doubt it's acting up now more because of how she is feeling about the breakup. She did go to a friends birthday party tonight but only for an hour. She's crying so much and just so heartbroken. I know that's part of it but so hard to watch😕

Is she in therapy for the anxiety? There is help for anxiety,a good therapist and medicine can help alot. Her ex boyfriend is a dick! Let her know that she deserves better and she shouldn't listen to him. The most of us have had a first love and breakup with heartaches..but we have all survived it. Let her know you are there for her.
