I feel so lost. I had no warning signs. I mean she did show some anger issues, but I blamed it on teenage hormones. Mostly she would become irate when we wouldn't let her run here and there, and over curfew. We had went to a birthday party and got the call from my parents who found her. She had walked outside, bleeding from the mouth, nose, etc. She said she shot herself. She was life flighted to the nearest hospital where we spent 6 days in ICU, surgery to wire her broken jaw shut, a few days in a step down room, then a week in a psych ward. She's home now, awaiting brain surgery to remove the bullet from her frontal lobe. She's doing very well, considering..... I just don't know what to do ...how to feel... how to cope.. or how to trust again.

Also, and i am not blaming you, keep weapons locked away in a safe. Also if you had medication at home get it locked in a safe just to prevent her from harming herself. And I wish good luck with the surgery. This is a very touching story, and I am so glad she survived! Also check online if there are any groups for parents with children who attempted suicide. They will know how you feel and understand you.

That must be a total shock! I would advise you to go to a therapist and get counseling. I would also suggest you go with your daughter,if she wants you to come with. If not let her go alone and you should also go see a therapist on your own. Good luck and alot of strength for this awful situation!

I don't know what to say, my daughter is battling depression as I write this. My prayers are with you and your family. Don't blame yourself
