Help! My beautiful amazing 17 month old hits me and her sister and thinks its funny. I have tapped her on the hand and said no that's not nice. I also have done no tap and just showing her to do nice, she goes back to hit and throw her toy, with a happy face & laughing . What
else can I do?

I have a 16 month old and if she throws a toy at her sister or really hard on the floor out of fustration or anger. I will get on my knees face her toward me and say in a firm voice while holding the toy up in my hand, "We do not throw toys." Then gently set the toy down onto the floor. If she does it again. I do the same thing, but after saying, "We do not throw toys." I take the toy and put it away and out of reach. Some times she will go off and find something else to do. Other times she throws a fit because I took away the toy. I let her throw her tantrum and walk away until she calms down. This has really worked. She has learned if she throws toys, she will lose the privelage of being able to play with them. I dont put them back out till the next morning or till I notice she has completely lost intrest and doesnt remember it was taken away.
