My 19 month old son just won't talk. I've seen kids younger than him say words he hasn't said yet. Are there any tips to getting him to say words instead of just whining? He only says ma, pa (mom, dad) and out (but doesn't pronounce the ''t'') How can I help him

What u do is u keep talking to ur baby. Put on lots of learning shows. Anything having to do with words. Your baby might be shy. I know lots of toddlers that didnt start talking until age two and half. So don't worry you baby is fine it's normal. At that age they don't pronounce their words all the way. Mines is two n she just started really really talking but still baby language mixed in there. Yes some children do but every baby is different. So like I said no worried u can sleep and rest. It's normal hunn. My one year old just started kinda talking too. It's fun just work with your child.

I agree, every baby is different. Don't worry too much about it! My 19 month old is total opposite of my 13 month old when it comes to development in general, including talking! My 19 month, at age 10 months, was saying full words and the pronunciation was terrific! She's now spouting off full sentences like it's nothing. On the other hand, my 13 month is only saying a few words, and no one except for me, my spouse and the sitter, no one understands her.

If you do grow concerned, however, your doctor can help. My sister's little boy still wasn't talking at 2 years, so her doctor reffered them to a child speech therapist and he's doing excellent now!

Yes us mothers worry about everything. It's normal to worry a little even a lot. That's just our mother instincts. It's like a lion mother and her cubs n the wild. But there are head start programs that'll teach him to use the potty and talk. Headstart is the best. There are programs you can look into that will pay for your child care also....if you needed the extra help.

thank you! I guess I was a little worried because he will be starting daycare soon and I really wanted him to be able to say a few things to communicate with the teachers. But everyone keeps telling me he'll be fine so I'm less nervous now.
