Why have you let him get out of control? Yes, it's normal for a child to push boundaries and not listen. But, he should not be hitting others. He needs discipline.

Try to remove things that he can throw. If he throws something, then start taking away toys. Tell him that it's wrong to throw, and if he doesn't appreciate things, then he gets things taken away. If he's misbehaving, put him in the corner. If he gets up, put him back in there, and keep doing it until he can sit there nicely for 2 minutes. It might help to have a timer or something so he can see how much time that is. If he gets up before time runs out, put him back in the chair and show him that you reset the timer. You may have to do that a bunch of times before he catches on, but the longer you let him run wild, the harder it will be to get control of him. If he hits someone, then he needs to have a stronger punishment that will help him learn not to hit. Make him clean his room or pick things up around the house or something.
