My son got very sick at the age of 1 and a half and was hospitalized for 27 days. When he was first admitted he did not have high BP just low oxygen and he needed to get puffers right away but he was extremely congested they wanted to give him another steroids called dexamethazone to clear up his lungs. They did not tell me the after effect of the drug they just warned that he needed it right away to bring his O2 levels up.
My son took to the medication and his oxygen levels were getting better. The evening he was admitted the night nursed noticed that his blood pressure was abnormaly very high for his age reaching 130-138.
The medication caused him to have high BP. After 27days of being hospitalized and multi blood pressure medication being administered to him they got it under control.
But now I am facing a new challenge my son stopped speaking. He was always very bright and smart from a young age learning how to talk by 9 months saying hi and by and waving his.hands and small words like up, mama and dada.
But now he is not speaking at all. He has been through speech therapy and has been picking up well but he is yet to say full on sentences. He can sing all of the abc's twinkle twinkle little star, old McDonald's had a little farm and pick up every note of any song or music he is found of.
Ye he refuses to speak on full sentences.
Does anyone know what else I can do? To help with his speech?
