My 2 month old normally takes 4 oz every 3 hours, but lately he has been getting hungry 1 1/2 - 2 hours after each feeding. I tried giving him 6 oz, but he always stops after drinking 4 oz every time and will not take the rest. Is this normal or is there something I should be doing differently?

It could be, he is bigger and can suck more efficiently and is ready for a faster flow. Do you still burp him?

I've been using slow flow nipples. I'll try a medium with him and see how it works for him. I actually just finished giving him a 4 oz and he immediately went back to sucking his fist even though he had trouble finishing the bottle. Maybe you're right about the flow being too slow for him.

Just follow his cues, if he is falling asleep after three ounces, rub his back or tap his feet a bit to rouse him. If he quits after 4 ounces don't force it on him. If he is gnawing on his fist and fussing after 2 hours go ahead and offer him a bottle. He will probably bump up to 5-6 oz every 3-4 hours soon. Are you still using a slow flow nipple? He may be ready for a medium or fast flow nipple and will eat more efficiently.
