My 2 year old is going through social anxiety after I put her in toddler class

Hello moms,

My 2 year old daughter was not going to any sort of day care/school/play group or class for 2 years. She was looked after by her granny at home who stays with us.
Now, we started her toddler class since last week for just 2 days in a week and I noticed that she is going through the social anxiety or having issues getting used to new environment. Gets scared the moment I use the word school, shows tantrums and cries a lot if we talk about taking her to school.
Has any one been in a similar situation and how to overcome this in the best way possible to ease this out for both parents and the child?

This is totally normal for her age. You have taken her from granny's care and put her in a new environment. She is going to have issues of transistioning come along and it will take time to over come. Keep talking about school in a positive manner. When you drop her off: give a hug, tell her you will see her later, and hand her to the teacher of her room. By doing things quickly you will notice a change in her as she gets used to being dropped off. The longer you stay in the room with her throwing a tantrum or fit, the harder it becomes to leave so you can go to work or do what you have to do. I have worked with children for over 20 years in various areas from church to preschools. I have seen this happen on a regular basis.
