My son stays dry all night and wears undies to bed. He poops only in his little potty. But he still has pee accidents, usually when we are out.. unless I battle him onto the public potty and force him to go. Any advice? Maybe he is just scared of the big loo, or doesn't want to miss anything? I know he could hold it, because he holds it 11 hours at night! And he holds his poo poo till we get home and goes straight for his potty. I do use a fold out potty cusion when we go out and he will go if i force him and bribe him too ( but not without a battle!). He'd rather pee his pants than go on the potty. I know he is very young to be fully potty trained, but we seem so close! He is actually 2 in few days. I don't expect him to be fully accident free, some kids still have the odd accident until they are 7. I just would try to help ease him on the public pottys. It would be nice to have fewer accidents and less of a battle. Right now it's either the battle or the accident( and honestly in public, the battle sucks more than the accident as people stare like, well you all know!) He loves wearing undies. I always ask him what he wants to wear, diaper or undies , and he always chooses undies. But I have to carry pants around because I know a accident is bound to happen. I hope if i keep plugging away at it he will catch on, he does say ewwwwww when he pees his pants and let's me clean him up.

Yeah I guess I just need to be patient a while longer. After he wets his pants, or while he is going...he will ask me to use the potty and go on there no problem. But if i ask him a bigillion times if he needs to go, he will say no untill he is acutally wetting his pants. So at first I thought I thought maybe he didn't have bladder control, but he holds it all night long and makes it to the potty every morning. I guess more practice at home on big potty, and maybe friends houses. He loves to flush the potty too, which you'd think is the scary part!

Well how small is he? Would you be scared being a little guy and there is a big potty? Make him wear pull ups still when you go out. Be patient he is so small he must be scared. Almost 2? That is to young to try to go in public. Wait till he is two and a half to three years old and let him try again then, by then he should use big potties and if he doesn't use them in public and pees his pants at that age then start taking things away. Then when he does go on the toilet in public reward him.
