What I did with each of mine is find a sippy cup they really like. When it was time they wanted to nurse, I would hold them or lay with them give them their cup, which of course they didn't want and I'd sing or read to them and have that same time as if they were breast feeding. If they breastfeed throughout the day, start by getting them to only breastfeed before bed at night. Once they are comfortable with that, then you start weening them from night feedings. It may take a few weeks to a few months for your baby to be comfortable with each stage of weening. The important thing is to make her understand she will still have that closeness and security with you. Each step is a huge change for her.
