My 20 month old son got kicked out of daycare for temper tantrums

Hey, my 20 month old son is starting the terrible 2's, and he got kicked out of day care for his tantrums because it is too much for her to handle. His tantrums are the typical throw himself to the ground. He doesn't hit or hurt the other kids. I was pretty devestated about this. So now we are looking into finding a new daycare. I was just wondering, how old, do you ladies think, is TOO old to be a daycare provider?

Also I would be looking at the kid to teacher ratio. If there are more than 8 kids imo there should be 2 teachers or more.

Like I said, I would not judge the provider for their age. I would decide on all the other factors that I have listed, and how they deal with circumstances like handle your son during tantrums. But i would also be looking for a place that teaches. Not just a place to have him hang out all day while you are at work or wherever. I would want an educational daycare. If they could not handle energetic toddlers, they most likely would not be doing it.

Hi, no I didn't mean she was too old. And yes I know it is because she is at her limit number of children so it is overwhelming. What I was refering to is, when we are looking for our new provider, is there an age that we should draw a limit to? I mean he is an energetic little boy, as they all are. haha

Do you mean the person providing the day care is to old? I really don't think there is an age. It depends on many factors but age is not one of them. Maybe your son was a bit to much to handle, and he was disrupting all the other children. So when you look for a new daycare, interview them. Ask them how they handle tantrums. How they teach, what they teach, and all the activities per a normal day. Clearly he was not a good fit for this provider, but that doesn't mean she was to old.
