How do you handle things when your child is no longer a child? My daughter officially moved out but still has 2 closets full of her stuff. I believe she is doing drugs and her friends are the same way. We had a a tragedy in her life when she was 8. I gave birth to twins and my one daughter suffered severe brain injuries from a disease of the placenta called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. I was never the same after that and found out about 4 years ago that I suffer from biological depression. We had nurses in our home until my daughter was 5 1/2 at which time we placed her in a beautiful home for medically frail children. Yes my oldest saw a lot go on and her life changed forever as all of ours did. Long story short she doesn't call me or her sister or her stepdad and is not going to be with us on Thanksgiving or Christmas. It is killing me that she is not going to be home. It is killing me that she is involved with people who are a bad influence on her. It is killing me that she no longer wants me in her life. This isn't the girl I sent to college. This isn't the girl who studied in Italy for a semester who I went to see over there. This past summer has changed her and that is really when she started behaving like this. I'm heartbroken. Any words of advice?
