I am a first time Mom of a perfect 3 month old baby boy. He sleeps through the night already but getting him to sleep is almost impossible. He will fall asleep on me or his Dad, but as soon as we put him down, he cant stop moving his arms and legs so he wakes himself up. We swaddle him but it doesn't help. We have swaddled him with both arms, leaving one arm out, leaving both arms out. It just seems like nothing works. Please help us!! He is so sleepy and frustrated cuz he keeps waking himself up :(

we do lay him on his side but im going to try tucking the blanket under one arm and a blanket on top. He always fights to get out of being swaddled so that might work a lot better. Thank you!

Can you try to lay him down (God forbid) on his side like 45 degrees. I know the AAP says flat on back. If you can lay him just tipped, with a blanket under one shoulder, then take another blanket and lay that across him and tuck it in side and side. So he is not swaddled but still sorta snug? I guess you could try that flat on back too, just don't make the blanket so tight he can't breathe.

ETA: as soon as he can roll over, let him. when baby is on his belly he will sleep better; he just has to be able to roll himself.
