My 3 year old boy can go days without eating a single bite of vegetables, meats, or solid dairy products. The only thing he does ask for is warm milk with formula 3 to 4 times a day with an occasional type of juices (apple, grape, orange). Maybe when he is really hungry on a weekly basis will eat some 'chicken nuggets, strips'. One thing we did notice about him is that if he sees any type of candy like m&m's, reese's and any form of chocolate bar or candy, HE WILL DEVOUR IT!!! So we removed these forms of candy from his sight! we don't want him to have 'diabetes' at an early age. If someone can please advice any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! A friend of mine went through a very similar thing with her son. Pediatricians and child psychologists will tell you that boys can be lazy eaters. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with him physically, or he wouldn't eat anything--including candy. At 3 years old, he should be away from warm milk with formula. Time to move on. It appears he is doing what my friend's son did, and try to dictate to you what he is going to do. She broke him of it by not allowing this....she put out what he was to eat. Period. Don't get me wrong, it took a few LONG tantrums, but eventually he got the message that he was not in charge. It won't be easy, but you probably need to shift who is in control...and soon. Once he catches on that he can dictate what he eats, and when, he will feel he is in control in regard to other things too.
