I usually don't ask for opinions a lot but lately, strange things have been happening with my 3 year old son. It first started when he mentioned someone named Michael. Normally, I wouldn't take things like this seriously, but we don't know anyone by the name of Michael, no friends, neighbors, people on tv, etc. One night he said "see Michael in there?" I said, "who is Michael and where is he, can you show me?" He pointed to his room. He wouldn't tell me what he looked like. I normally don't think much of it, but he keeps saying Michael is in his room. He hasn't done it in a little while. I am very paranoid and superstitious about this. Recently, two nights ago, around 9:30 at night, I had forgotten to shut the blinds and he said, "Mommy, Nanna is outside by the car, Nanna needs to come inside and give me a kiss goodnight." I told him "No buddy, Nanna is at home about to go to sleep." I was in the kitchen when this happened. Then he said "see the guys outside by the car?" By that point I was a little freaked out. I even had my mom call him and tell him that she was at home and about to go to sleep. He even went to the front door to try to open it for "her" to come in. I don't know if I am over-thinking this, but I would like to know if anyone has ever had this happen? Anyone have advice when these things happen? I feel he is too young to really have an "imaginary friend," I stay home with him, he doesn't go to daycare.

3 is a perfect age for their imaginations to really start coming out. When my girls were 3 they had 'monkeys' in their closets...

Imagination is good and healthy! My four yr old has a "pet" fly he calls Max. There really is a fly in our home. But he has also walked an imaginary dog around the house saying "come leo the dog". We had a good laugh!

I just find it odd, he just has never heard the name Michael. Thank you though, my youngest is 8 months so I don't really know what to expect from a 3 year old.
