So my daughter is 3 she will be 4 in april so im thinking of sending her to school for pre-k just 4 hours a day but at the same time i dont want too!!! she is my baby ..i dont want her to grow up lol..anyways so im thinking should i wait till she is 5 to send her to kinder for the whole day ?? is it a big deal if she dont go to pre-k ? what is best for her?? I kind of want to keep her home for another year since my son will be 1 year in may 28 and then he will be able to actually play with her more and i could enjoy them more..take them both out more so they could run and play together ...does anyone get what im saying ? im just a little confused..thank you ahead of time for your opinions..oh one more thing !! Did any of you cry or felt really sad when your child went to school for the very first time ?? and how did it go?? and how did you deal with it? PLEASE DO TELL !! it will help me too!

Thank you Amy for your response ...my daughter use to go to a babysitter but at 2 1/2 she stopped since I became a stay at home mom. At the babysitter she had other kids to play with and she use to spend the weekends with grandma ...now she wont spend the night. I like the idea of sending her only 3 days a week ...I do think she needs to get use to school . I don't want her to go from staying home all day to when she's 5 all of the sudden she would have to stay all day at school. Thank you for your story :) it helped.

*It depends has she ever been away from you? While I don't think it's entirely necessary to attend pre-school you really need to take into account the child. My son didn't need preschool academically but he definitely needed it for the socialization. He had never been around a lot of kids and for the first couple of months gravitated towards his teachers. We only sent him for 3 days a week 2 1/2 hours each day so just enough to get what he really needed.
