I noticed recently before she taking showers, she always spent time checking her private area. I am not sure whether this is something normal at this age, before I talk to her about it. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, this is normal. Around the time puberty begins, or even earlier, it's natural for kids to want to explore and understand their bodies. In fact, it's a good thing. :) There isn't much of a need to talk to her about it, just let her know you are open to any questions or concerns she has.

What are you wanting to talk to her about?
She's probably seen pictures of the female body and is comparing hers. Hopefully before now you have told her about other people touching her and to tell someone if they do.
It's normal to be curious of our bodies, in fact it's a good thing. I hope you weren't going to tell her not to touch her body.
