If a therapist is telling you she should be seen twice a week or more... she should be seen. You WILL be 'taught' and encouraged how to help her throughout the week as well, but please let the professionals help your child.

I would send her. And also try to Play games with her using Colors. You could draw/paint with her and tell her the Colors. Explain to her the Colors of items we use daily for example the banana is yellow, the apple is red, your tshirt is pink etc. You could also get a book for her about Colors and read it with her.

Maybe I did not understand the post. Are you considering not starting that advised therapy? Or are you considering trying to facilitate the therapy? No child goes to speech therapy on the basis on of not knowing the colors.

Agrees with Dove. If a speech therapist is saying she needs therapy then do so. At her age this is TONS of help and if not followed through on you could be setting you child up for being behind all the way through school.

Is she colorblind? Which is rare in girls. Or does she just not know her colors? Start reading books and point out all of the red, orange, green...etc. There is no reason you can't work together with a therapist.
