After 2 trips to the Dr. And medication for her bottom, we are concerned she likes it. Weve asked her if it hurts and she says it itches. She uses a blanket to do this odd process. We ask her to stop please bc it disturbeds us and she replies "I can't help it!" Should I be more concerned than I am already.
Any one have some helpful advice or any experience with the same thing we are going through

I knew that Michelle. I was wondering how she would respond when I actually responded to the literal meaning :). Believe me, my post was totally tongue in cheek ;)

I guess I was trying to make the point that she needs to use AND teach her daughter the correct terminology or nobody would know what she was talking about. My post was an example of this.

Then I was planning on the discussion about how we need to teach our children to use correct terminology for their safety.

But I decided to start with this and see where it took us, LOL.

A tutu is tulle, of course it's itchy.

If you are referring to a part of your child's anatomy, it would be helpful if you'd get over your fear of using correct terminology.

That being said, if the physician's recommended treatment is not effective, take her back and ask for a different medication.

Oh now i read it again and saw the part about medication for her bottom. So i guess she is scratching her bum. Worms could make her bum itch.

As the other ladies have comically pointed out... it is hard to give advice when we really don't know what you are talking about.

My family dealt w/ itchy butts 3 times over the course of a year and a half before we finally got rid of the pin worms for good. It's a very simple treatment (one pill and then another pill 2 weeks later), but they kept coming back after a few months for us for some reason... that was a couple of years ago now w/ no issue again.

If it's her vagina you are referring to... well, my parents took me to the doctors multiple times as a child because I was itching too... no one ever figured out why, but there was and is nothing wrong w/ me in that regard.

As usual Jodi, the amount of people that post and never respond is annoying. It's even worse when they post and then delete their account.

Sorry Jodi, it was early this morning and I was trying to get children organized while also getting ready for work.
The sarcasm went totally in one eye and out the other!

If your 3 yo has anal itching, there could be several causes:
1.Worms: Pinworm intestinal infections are very common in this age group. Easily diagnosed and treated. Here is a link to the details:
http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/...
2. Poor hygiene or too much cleaning: if your child is newly potty trained, she may not be cleaning herself well after a BM. Conversely, wet wipes or washcloths and soap, if not rinsed thoroughly can leave behind residue and cause itching.
3. Yeast: While most yeast infections are vaginal, it is possible to harbor yeast in the rectal area.
What medication has been prescribed?
I agree, it's important to use the real words for body parts.

I don't think she's actually talking about a tut, I think she referring to her Daughter's bottom as a "tutu"
Have you ruled out worms?

Her tutu could make her itchy - those ballet tutus are made from tulle, which is itchy.
