For the past one week my 4 month old baby is refusing to have breastmilk.. Since he is only feed on breast milk and not on formular milk. I am worried if there is any problem with him. Also tensed if he does not gain adequate weight. Please suggest me a way to make him take his feed.

Thank you,
Connie.

How well is he holding his head during tummy time. At this age, he should be able to hold his head well at tummy time, and be able to have some reasonable control, although it isn't really until about 6 months that they have full control. If you are concerned, you should see your doctor.

With regard to the feeding, is he losing weight? Is it possible it is something you have added into your diet that isn't agreeing with him? is it possible you could be pregnant (I ask because my nephew went off breastmilk when his mum became pregnant - it changed the flavour)? There are so many things it could be. It may be worth trying to get hold of a sample of formula and see if he accepts this. Or would he accept your breastmilk in a bottle?

Hi Jodi, thanks for your reply. In a day my baby is having for only five to seven minutes in a total say 3 to 4 times. He is having this only after several refusal. I am worried because he was not like this before. Do you think it is a teething problem. Please advice. And also he is not holding his head straight. Is it too early to hold head steady(he will complete four months on the 29thMay) or still time. Please let me know when babies hold their heads proper.
Thanks.

Sorry, can you confirm....your baby has refused ANY and ALL breastmilk for a week? Have you tried formula? You can't not feed your child something. Offer him some formula. If he refuses that, then it is time to get to see a doctor, because this is extremely serious.
