My son has recently started (within the past week) just playing with his bottle! he will just chew on the nipple on suckle on it but not actually eat! when you pull the bottle away from his mouth he is not upset or angry but he does pull the bottle back to his mouth, I have felt around in his mouth and he does not have any teeth coming in. We have not tried any real foods yet, we JUST got the ok from his ped to start cereal before bed which we will do on friday. He will eat around 2-3 oz and leave the rest and cry hes hungry again in an hour or 2 so I let him finish his bottle. He does not give me any problems at night. Is this a sign that he may be ready for real food?? Im afraid that once he gets a taste of rice/cereal or real food that he will refuse the bottle completely.. HELP!

Sabrina, it wouldn't hurt to try him on baby food. Just try and see if he is ready for it. My 4 month also does that..he sucks and chews on everything. Don't worry he won't refuse the bottle just because you are giving him other food. Hang in there momma, it will all work out!
