My 4 year old gets so hot in bed!

Does anyone have any advice for me, please? My son has just turned 4 and has always been warm blooded, the cold just doesn't seem to bother him. However, during the past few months, after he's been in bed a couple of hours, he has been sweating so much his hair and body are wet through and his pyjamas are soaking. He has even suffered from night terrors due to this excessive sweating. I have tried using the thinnest duvet I can find, he sleeps in t.shirt and shorts, we have no heating on at night, but he still ends up soaking wet. (My younger son has much thicker bedding, and has no trouble at all with his temperature.) The trouble then is, that as his wet skin and clothes cool down in the early hours, he becomes cold and it wakes him up. He is a healthy, active little boy, but I don't know why he has this problem at night, or what to do about it. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear from you please

My son used to be the same way... he's now four and only sleeps in his underwear without covers

Sharon, My son sleeps with a blanket that my mother crocheted for him, although he doesn't use it he will put it on when he gets cold. I would give him a sheet or light blanket and usually they will put it on when they get cold

Hi Sara, thanks for replying and letting me know my son isn't the only one who is like this! Do you not find your son is cold during the night though, without any covers? I'm not too sure which is better or worse, being too hot or too cold, as he sleeps through the sweats but only wakes up when he gets cold?
