My 4 year old grandson is a terror.

My grandson can be the sweetest and most helpful little guy. He wants to help with everything. Very loving too. Then he won't listen, is very disrespectful. He doesn't listen to most people. He listens best to me. He is aware and almost boastful when he is bad. He is remorseful if he caused harm to anyone. We believe he has and allergy to red dye #40 which really effects his behaivor. I don't know if there are other foods or additives that may effect his behavior. I am very worried about him. No one else in the family will watch him. I do take him to places like the YMCA childwatch. they have never complained about him so maybe it is more of a home problem. Where can I find out what to do to help him and the family?

If he's showing specific reactions to red dye, you may want to consider some diets that are based on that type of symptom. It's often the reaction from those allergies, even! There is one specific diet that might help - I have considered it but we have not used it yet, although a few of my friends do use it and swear by it. Others swear by going gluten-free and/or dairy free, or simply starting with allergy testing by an allergist (many types of testing out there and many types of allergies, not all mediated by the same body systems) and going from there. Good luck!
