It depends on where you are,Sarah - ADHD is not considered a disability where I am and does not qualify you for any additional support, but it MAY, depending on the child, be reason to develop an ILP for classroom purposes.

While it is true that only the US has federal mandates for kids with SN. Every child throughout the country is entitled to an evaluation and services IF they qualify.

School, you should look into your schools district special education ...you will need to find out if he qualifies for iep for any learning difficulty and if not you need to find out how to rest a meeting to place him on a 504plan behavior plan this plan will set in place what your child needs to be successful , it will help with class placement how long will his lessons be ... this plan will also help school and you get on same for how you would like behavior issues handled ...
Where you live are you near any programs like parents helping parents ?
If not I would suggest google them give them a call see if they can find you an advocate for education rights in your area...

Also I know in California if child has adhd and two more challenging diagnosis u can qualify for ssi....

If your wandering my son has adhd odd cd audio and visual processing disorders. ..he was first treated at 16months he is now in a non public school age 14years nineth grade
I had to get stanford lawyers to help advocate for his rights

First of all that teacher IS NOT a doctor! secondly, what four year old can do anything for a long period of time or any period of time for that matter. I'm sure your child is very intelligent they're probably just bored I suggest pulling your child out of that class immediately that sounds like it's the teacher with the problem.. Not your child

If he is diagnosed ADHD, the public school should provide services to support his learning. Contact the Dept of Special Ed for your school district and initiate a full assessment to identify his needs and changes to the learning setting that will help him.

Who diagnosed him, and did that doctor provide you with some support services to assist you in managing his behaviour?
