My 4yr old son has the worst tantrums sometimes. When I ask a him to do something simple like come inside it's time to get ready for bed, he will make it the most difficult task by making me chase him around the yard. I have to threaten to take away toys or games which makes him even more upset. When he acts out, he gets timeout. It works sometimes, but if he is really tired he will yell and scream so loud and slam his bedroom door shut. When I attempt to talk to him about his behavior, sometimes he hits or kicks me. Where does this anger come from? I try to just let him be alone until he calms down. Once he is calm, we talk about his behavior, and he apologizes. Are there any suggestions to help prevent such awful tantrums? It's very stressful.
