my son sean turned 4 in feburary and his behaviour is worse than ever. we never have had a strong mother and son relationship and his father works all day 7 days a week. my son will nag at me to put cartoons on and when i do put them on as soon as the adverts are on he will start running around and bugging my three cats that are trying to sleep, and being an animal lover that really upsets me. if my son is in his bedroom watching a dvd he will sneak downstairs and start going through my perfumes and make up in the bathroom.

I feel a little victimised by my own son it's only my things he breaks, he does his worst behaviour when it is just us at home, nothing is ever good enough that i do for him eg the wrong flavour of juice, wanted a sandwhich instead or a cooked meal. he always good when he goes to my grandads and when we goes to pick him up he has a full blown melt down like we're complete strangers taking him away.

i really can't cope any more how can i get my partner to listen to me and any ideas on how to keep my sons behaviour under control. someone please help me

William Ding, quit posting your asshole comments. You have no valuable input

OP, first of all, TEACH YOUR KID how to behave around your animals, or he's going to end up seriously injured or killed.

Second, STOP LETTING THE TELEVISION be the babysitter. Interact with your kid.

Third, maybe some parenting courses will help you to understand better what it is like to be a parent. You cannot just expect your child to know how to behave, you have to TEACH. You cannot allow destructive behaviour, you must REDIRECT.

And fourth: You and hubby need to develop a parenting plan. No one works a full 168 hours a week, which is the 24/7 thing. He's got down time and off time. The two of you need to get on the same page.
