my 5 month old will cry when i leave the room . not even his daddy can help calm him down

brooks crys when i leave the room. my husband cant even watch him while i go to soccer practice with my other son because all he does is cry if im not holding him

Yup. That's all pretty normal at 5 months. He'll grow out of it. My guess is he'll grow out of it faster if you don't push it.

like christy said its normal and he will grow out of it. try being out of the room so that he can't see you but continuing to talk to him. It might reassure him that you are not gone completely just not where he can see you.
As for the breast feeding comment try switching him to a bottle for night time. You can pump so that he is still get the nutritious breast milk but you might find that he isn't actually hungry he is just trying to soothe himself so try a bottle and a pacifier instead.

i will try anything at this point. it is also to the point that if my breast is not in is mouth at night time he will not sleep he is up about every hour just to have my boob in his mouth

Normal. He will grow out of it. Maybe you can leave something with him that smells like you, like a shirt you wore or a pillow case you slept on?
