My son has been on a schedule since he was 2 and a half months old. We've always had three naps that last 1.5 hours, sometimes more each and he is in bed by 7pm. Ever since he turned 5 months though, this has completely changed. It started the day we got home from his shots. He was running a fever so we attributed his sleep changes to that. After he was over it he just continued to avoid taking his naps. He used to always go to bed after we go through our nap routine. Now it seems that he knows he's going to be taken in for a nap and starts crying before we even get to start the routine. I know he's tired because he'll keep rubbing his eyes, yawning, or just staring off as if daydreaming. But he just refuses to go to sleep for his naps and when he does, they are no longer than 1 hour, usually around 30 minutes.
He also takes longer to fall asleep but he eventually does and sleeps through the night with a few wakings for feeding. Has this ever happened to anyone? I am looking for advice on how to correct this. He's always been so comfortable with his schedule that now it's throwing all of us off and I hate seeing him so tired and unable to do anything.
