My daughter started sleeping thru the night when she was six weeks old. It wasn't consistent, some nights she would wake a couple times for a feed and back to bed. When she turned four months old she started waking consistently around the same time each night a feed and back to bed then about a week and a half ago she suddenly started waking after being in her crib for only a couple hours and when I would feed her and try to put her back in her crib she would wake again as soon as she touched the mattress. So out of desperation I started bringing her into our bed. That was going fine, sort of. I didn't want her to be sleeping in our bed to begin with. Now she wakes constantly. I'll get her to sleep for twenty or thirty minutes and then she's awake again. My husband and I have noticed that she wakes herself up by rubbing her face. So we put a sucky in her mouth and we each hold a hand until she falls asleep again. Now we have to hold her hands or one of us (always me) has to keep an arm on her at all times. I am lost for what to do. I don't like the cry it out method, it just seems so mean to me. But she won't sleep at night. She has difficulties napping during the day too but i usually lay next to her to get her to nap and that has been working.
