My sons Kindergarten teacher is telling me that my son may need to be retained because hes not focusing on his school work.I asked for additional options that we can take to help the situation; unfortunately, there were none, other than putting him in a transitional class that would still guarantee he will be repeating kindergarten. Please help

He's 5. Many 5 year old kids (especially boys, but not always) repeat K here. Generally speaking... many 5 year olds are not developmentally ready to 'focus' on school work. Some certainly are able to focus and even excel at that age, but it is so common where I am for a kid to do 2 years of K that it really isn't that concerning of a concept to me. If the teacher is not able to offer any suggestions to help then it truly may just be a time and development issue.... or you need a new teacher. Hard to tell based on the little information available.
