Hello all. my name is Natasha I have a daughter who is 6 years old. From the age of 2 years old I notices she was getting very bad colds and I was notices she found it hard to blow or breath through her nose. Even when she was not ill I started to realise she was not using her nose to breath out of, and every time I asked her to blow her nose she found it hard and did not know how to do it. The doctors kept on saying she is fine it's because she has a cold and at this age it's common and she will grown out of it in time. So we tried nasal spray nasal spray which none of them helped. So life just went on like that then when she turned 4years old the bad soaring came then she turned 5 nothing got better not only did her soaring get worse but then it started to affect her sleep and on top of that she still does not really no how to blow her nose. So this as u can tell does not help get all the mucus out. And then she started to get sore throats and ear infections. Now she is 6 not only has she not grown out of it it's getting worse to the point she stops breathing in her sleep and it's very frightening for her and us so I ask our doctor if they can refer her to the hospital to see a specialist. We have just come back from the hospital today and he said she has sleep apnoea which I had a feeling she had from reading up about it. But the doctor said she needs to have her tonsils out and her adenoids. I am a bit worried about this. And was wondering if any parents out there have gone through the same thing and if surgery worked for your child or did any problems arise after surgery? I have also read that diet can be a Cause to why my daughter is having these problem. So I was thinking about going down that root first before jumping to surgery! What do u all think and would love to hear your views and your experience on this matter? Just wanna say Thank u before hand for taking the time out to read my post.
