My son is 6 yrs old and is development delayed at school and also has a really bad speech problem. I'm starting to get concerned about him. He is starting to cover his ears when someone talks or a loud noise. He has his days. He is in special education classroom at school and receives speech therapy. And idea what could be wrong with him??

I'd go and talk to your pediatrician or family GP. It's a good starting point. You can express your concerns to him/her and get feedback on the issue.

No the only testing he has had is an iep at school. At first I thought he was just having problems with his speech because his brother did also. But now his school said he has a development delay and social anxiety. I just been sitting here thinking and wondering if it could be more.

Have the professionals explored the possibility of Sensory Processing Disorder? It was the covering of his ears that alerted me to thinking this could be a possibility, but this also often comes with some developmental delays. From my understanding, it is often misdiagnosed because every child experiences different symptoms.
