First of all I want to thank you for accepting me, I'm not a mom I'm just a concern father. My son is 11 years old and in 6th grade, he really is very scare of his teacher and they're having a little trouble communicating with each other, we really get the feeling that is something personal, she really do not inspire any friendship or trust to the pupils like it should be between a child and teacher, today 1/14/2014, she gave my son a problem to solve and unfortunately he didn't know the answer and he kept trying to guess, she started yelling at him and send him to stand in the corner, I ask you is this acceptable?
Thank you.

In this day and age, a teacher should have better methods! Is there any way he can change classrooms? If he's being intimidated, he's not learning well, and it will create issues down the road.

My first suggestion would be a meeting with teacher, and parents. Find out what her side of the story is, and then approach a solution. If your son wants to stay in that classroom, a solution will be necessary. If you cannot see eye to eye with the teacher, see if he can be moved to a different classroom that will better meet his needs.

I'm all about being strict, but yelling at a kid because they don't understand the problem isn't teaching.
