My 7 months son isn't self settling

My son isn't self settling and wakes up 3 to 5 times a night. I tried to introduce control crying but didn't work. He cried so much he thee up. Tried to use another similar method didn't work either. I breast feed him to sleep or I have to go for a walk in a pram for him to sleep. My back is really sore.

Can anyone help??

Like the last post, I also read the No-cry sleep solution and gathered some good information there. Essentially the book asks that you study your childs sleep habits so by the time your done you'll have a very good idea about how and why they sleep. But another thing, is that 7 mo. is still pretty young. Many children simply wake easily. Something I've tried that have worked:
1. White noise. Consistent noise. There many different types of machines out there. It's soothing and helps block out distracting noise.
2. Don't know where he's sleeping, but if he's in his own room, you might move him into your room so that as soon as he wakes you can comfort him immediately and eventually the security he feels will allow him to relax through out the night.
3. Be sure he's going to bed with a full tummy.
4. Be sure his room is very dark. Light reflected on the wall can be confusing for little ones.

Must say my two (2 & 4 yrs old) children are excellent sleepers. They sleep through the night, on their own and they're not afraid of the dark. Despite what other say, our children co-slept in the center of our beds till they were 18 months old. I think it made all the difference.

Good luck!

Have you checked out the No-Cry Sleep Solution? Perhaps that would work for you. My older kids were only waking once or twice a night at that age and were also binky 'addicts', so that helped a lot. My youngest didn't night wean until he was 2 though. I was not going to use any crying methods as they don't sit right with me at all.
