My husband and I gave birth to our first baby 2/26/2014. A beautiful miracle baby boy perfectly healthy at 7 pounds 1 oz :). They kept us in the hospital for 2 days. During those 2 days on the 2nd day I noticed my son's chest sounding a little congested. I mentioned it to the doctor, with their response that it was perfectly normal. Since I have arrived home I noticed the change progressing. I took him to the doctors today and his pediatrician told me once again, if your son is not having issues eating, sleeping, fevers, coughing, he's fine. Supposedly it's normal for a children living a city life style (NYC) can be congested the first few weeks months to a year due to the change of seasons and pollution. I have four humidifiers running at all time at home, and I sent my husband today after work to pick up a fifth one. I won't dare to leave my home with my little one sounded congested. I also do not have any windows open. I feel like a hermit crib lol still have a sense of humor through all the new mommy frustration. I'm afraid to take him outside 'thinking' he would just get worse! I've also used 100% menthol and eucalyptus oil while running the humidifiers, and that seems to help a little. When I finish breast-feeding or bottlefeeding it seems like he gets more congested. Oh yeah, when he cries too. Is there anyone else that can suggestions something more than what we have been doing that has gone through the same problem, or is dealing with the same issues as we are?
