Hi Guys
First post here. I have a seven year old daughter who is amazingly bright. She is very creative and is in the gifted program at her school.
I am in need of some advice.
Ex: Halloween time. We were carving pumpkins outside. We had four, worked on three and then came in to carve . Left the one pumpkin outside. My daughter noticed that the pumpkin was outside and insisted on us bringing it it. She said it was lonely and cold. (We live in Ga) We told her no, that it can stay out there. She literally started crying and said it was a special pumpkin and we NEEDED to bring it in. We ended up doing that. That night, she had named it "Mr Steve" and brought it into bed with her to sleep with it. The next night she had it on the couch watching tv....
We could not carve it and it's still on our front step.

And yesterday, we got a new tv so we would like to put our old one in her room. She has a tv in there but it's really old and pretty much broken. She asked if we were going to throw it out and I replied "i'm not sure yet". Well, she broke down crying again, saying how it's been with her for so long and we can not throw it out.

I think it's cute that she is like this, but I do not want it to be a cause of problems down the road.

Anyone else have a kid like this?
