My 7 yr old son made a comment about a 7 yr old girl of a sexual nature at school.

I agree with Shawnn and Jodi. He could have picked it up anywhere. It's more important to deal with what was said, why it was said, and why it isn't appropriate vs. finding out where he heard it.... though that 'can' be helpful, but it may be nothing you can control.

If your child is in school, you can't possibly be monitoring everything your child hears. Believe me, the stories my 8 year old daughter comes home with sometimes would curl your toes. And I teach high school, I've heard how the older siblings of these kids talk. Your son probably heard it on the playground at school. The important thing to do is assure him that these things aren't appropriate words to use. Chances are he didn't truly understand that what he was saying was inappropriate.

Ah, but do you monitor everything that they hear as an incidental comment during the day? You simply cannot do that, not without putting earplugs in their ears every time you so much as step out of your front door.
You may not speak that way, your spouse may not speak that way, but somewhere, your kid heard someone utter that phrase, whatever it was, and thought it sounded cool, has no real clue what it actually means, but since it sounded cool to him, he used it.
If I may inquire, what did he say?

My 12year old cousin picked this up at school..anal sex.His mom ask him if he knows what he is talking about and he answered you do that so a girl doesnt get pregnant.
My cousin comes from a good home and is very well mannerd but thats the stuff they pick up at school.I think its good if you talk to him about these kind of things and that it is not nice.
