My 7yr old. I wanted to compare notes with other mom's who have girls the same age..

One thing that troubles me is that I grew up on a street where I played with a few kids on a regular basis and they are still my friends today. We live in an older neighborhood and Leah goes to private school so she is not making those same connections. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Children do need friends to learn to socialise and having friends brings happiness.
You could organise play dates with children from your daughter's school. Her teacher could help you choose a suitable friend if your daughter cannot. As a teacher, I have been asked often.
You could enrol your daughter in an activity in the neighbourhood so that she meets local children. There must be some children around.
Also, take her to a local park, playground or library. At this age, children make friends easily. Talk to the parents and a friendship could start.
