My son who is 8months old will still wake up 1-2 times every night for a 8 ounce bottle. I've fed him thick cereal and then a bottle about 1/2hr-hr later. Nothing I have done works. He should be sleeping through the night now right?

No, not necessarily. Infants can continue waking one or twice for a feed well beyond their first birthday. It is more about the calories they are drinking/eating per day. The cereal won't help - that is actually less nutritious than the formula.

Have a look at what he is eating during the day - you may just need to look at extra calories during the day, then he wouldn't feel the need to wake so often at night. But some babies will just continue waking at night for a feed because they need to feed that often.

If it is any consolation, my daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was about 2. She was a small child and she just needed small frequent meals. She's turned out just fine :) What she was doing was totally normal for her.
