My 9 1/2 month daughter has 8 teeth already???
Average age of eruption of first tooth is four months. At one year the average is all eight front teeth and four molars ( leaving the baby canines or eye teeth and four more molars to erupt). By two the average is all 20 primary teeth are erupted. There is wide variablility. Sounds like your kid is very average for tooth eruption. I am a dentist, we get these questions all the time.

my son started teething at 2 1/2 months had 10 teeth by 9 months, and it slowed down a bit when the molars started coming. By 17 months all his teeth were in. so yeah, it is totally normal for young babies to have many teeth.

By the time my daughter was one, she had all her teeth. At times she would have four at a time come out, especially some of the bigger ones. It was tough at times as she felt crappy but now she is one and it appears all done for the moment.
My oldest son had had first two teeth at 10 weeks old. So he also had a mouth full at 9 months. The only problem we had was it hurt while he had to learn to nurse with teeth but he got over that quickly. otherwise it was really nice cause he could actually chew real food!
