My baby born on Feb 2016, still he didnt drink breast milk. initially he was given formula feeding in the hospital for two days. so the problem came. now he completely hesitates to drink breast milk. . he cries a lot while giving breast milk. Moreover, wen i used pump, enough breast milk is not coming. Now i got afraid that whether breast milk will stop. I suggest doctor also, they said "try and try again, he ll drink" like that doctor told. But he s not ready to drink. Two days I ve stopped formula also, even then he s crying a lot but not ready to drink breast milk. He closed his mouth completely while giving breast milk and pushing me with his hand.

What to do for that and wat to do for getting excess breast milk and is there any drawback that he s not drinking breast milk with his energy and strength. Please help me.

I lose my faith that he ll drink breast milk. Please help me

He is only two weeks old, right? Keep trying to get him to latch on, but you can't not feed him at all. If he isn't nursing, then he needs formula. The best advice I can give is to contact a lactation consultant. Then you can go in and have someone help you get him to latch on and eat. You may both be getting frustrated so take a break, give him a little formula (while you pump) to wet his appetite and try again. You may try trickling a bit of formula down your breast and onto your nipple to encourage him to latch on. Breastfeeding is a learning process for both you and the baby. Why was he given formula in the hospital and you had no help in getting him to nurse?
