My baby girl is not a happy, fun, engaging baby...

We can't say she is colicky, she was, she is better now. she sleeps trhough the night, she has weird timed naps, it looks like she NEEDS to be put down after no more than 2 hours of wakefulness, or she is just soooo cranky, sometimes she sleeps just 30 min, sometimes 2 hours... but anyway, she is kind of just hanging there, not having much fun with anything. she is not playful, doesn't enjoy the jolly jumper, the exercauser or such, and I am the only one who can hold her, even her dad makes her cranky. Did you have any 5 months old baby like that? did he passed? do you know what I could try? my son was total opposite, so I find it kind of sad for her....

It is called Cling to mommy / I am board stage, they out grow it just to renter it a short time later... I have 3 kiddos and all 3 have went through it.. My youngest is 12 months old and has entered this stage again.. Just give a few extra cuddles let her know you are there and she is ok. As for daddy have him try to play with her first before holding her, My husband has had to do this with our kiddos when in this stage... As for the play just get on the floor and show and teacher how much fun those items can be.. I am still doing this with my little ones ages boy 6, girl almost 5 and boy 12 months... They enjoy the little extra and think it is funny to watch mommy play with their toys.. { we might look funny but it is so worth the look on those little faces.} We also have Dance Parties from the time they are able to bare weight on legs.. Hope this is helpful, Best wishes and take care...

my daughter is 9 months and is like this, always has been but it's gotten worse recently. But we did just move.

My son was kind of like that. He was and still is serious all of the time. People are always asking me if he's tired and feeling ok. Truth is, he's just a serious kid and always has been. I know my son loves to be played with. He loves it when I get down on the floor and crawl around with him and bang on his toys like he does, however being 9 months pregnant it's not easy. lol Maybe she would like to be interacted with more. I can't really say for sure since I'm not her mother, but it could be a stage or she's just a serious baby.

my almost 5 month old is kind of going through this stage. she likes to play, but only for a little bit and it has to be a certain toy. some days are better than others. the only person she doesn't cry for is me or my sister when she is picked up. she is getting better though. i believe babies go through this stage. :)

she is probably more attached to you. my son went through that fase for like a month. try bringing her outside or leaving her with her dad without running to her side to comfort her

My first son was kind of like that. He didn't even smile until he was 6 months old! He would always be so cranky and would just grunt at me all the time. I called him my little crab cake. He started to get better after he started smiling. Now he is the happiest and smartest little guy in the world!
